Does your resume reflect the value that you bring to the table?
Quite often, many of us get stuck in what I call a resume rut. We put together our resume, only focusing on the small picture, leaving out some of the most important things that we have done to provide value to our employers.
Are you tired of working for “the man”? Or maybe you’re just fed up with searching for the ideal job that doesn’t seem to exist. Whatever your reason, you’ve stumbled across this post because you’re considering the option of freelancing.
Do you hold back when it comes to investing in yourself and your dreams?
When you stop to think about it, you invest in things everyday. When you purchase a book online, you are investing in your knowledge and the author’s career. By changing the oil in your car, you are investing in your wheels and your ability to get from point A to B. When you purchase a new couch, you are investing in the aesthetics and comfort of your home.
Have you ever been so excited about something that you jumped into it with little to no thought or planning?
Maybe it was an unplanned road trip or vacation. Perhaps it was the hasty purchase of a new couch.
Hopefully, it wasn’t a rushed, unplanned decision to leave your job and sell everything you own. Three years ago, I did just that. I let myself get carried away with the possibilities and rather than stopping to think things through, I jumped in head first without a clue as to what I was doing.
